Walmart confirmed that it plans to build a 41,839-square-foot Neighborhood Market grocery store in Henrico County, its second in the Richmond area. The store will also feature a drive-thru pharmacy and a fuel center.

The Neighborhood Market concept focuses solely on traditional grocery items including a bakery and deli, health and beauty supplies and select household items. Walmart opened the first Neighborhood Market in 1998, and now operates about 360 in the U.S.

The Neighborhood Market stores are about 38,000 square feet and employ about 95 workers. A typical Supercenter is 182,000 square feet and has 300 employees. Walmart did not give an opening date for the Henrico location.
