Mercury Marine growing, expanding again in Fond du Lac world headquarters

FOND DU LAC, WIS. — Mercury Marine, Mercury Marine, the world leader in marine propulsion and technology, is adding a 53,000 square foot manufacturing capacity expansion to its global headquarters in Fond du Lac.  The expansion will consist of 45,000 square feet of manufacturing capacity and an additional 8,000 square feet of office space.

In addition, Mercury is investing in state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment to better streamline the manufacturing process and meet the growing demands in the marketplace.  The new space will be completed in January, 2017.

“This is an exciting time for Mercury Marine,” said John Pfeifer, Mercury Marine president. “Demand for our product in the global marketplace has afforded us the opportunity to continue to grow and expand our manufacturing capabilities.”

With this expansion, since 2009, Mercury Marine has invested more than $730MM into capacity, technology and product development.  This is the second major expansion to the Fond du Lac campus in the past 12 months.  In May 2015, Mercury broke ground on a 45,000 square foot expansion to its electro-deposition paint (EDP) system that will significantly expand its processing capabilities.

Mercury continues to create jobs with its growth & related expansions, sourcing close to 80 percent of work on the two most recent expansions to Fond du Lac or Wisconsin based companies such as TTX, CD Smith, Excel Engineering and many more. The company employs 2,800 workers in Fond du Lac.
