HostDime.com’s new Orlando headquarters and data center to house 200 employees

ORLANDO – HostDime.com, Inc., a global leader in data center infrastructure, broke ground on a new 88,000 square foot data center in the town of Eatonville – the first step in constructing the company’s seven story world-class data center and corporate office.  Many businesses around the world rely on HostDime’s infrastructure to locate their data in the cloud.

Founded in 2003, HostDime has been part of the Orlando community since its inception and currently employs 120 staff locally in the area. At capacity, the new facility will house 200 employees. For career information, click here.

The project was first announced last year and is projected to be completed in 2018.

“We’re delighted to see HostDime is expanding its world headquarters in Orange County and creating high value, high wage jobs in our region,” said Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs. “Thanks to our strong workforce, our expanding high-tech assets and robust, innovation-driven economy, Orange County provides the ideal location for their operations.”

Unlike typical buildings, this world-class data center will require high-end technological infrastructure such as dense fiber connections, highly redundant power infrastructure, 10 megawatts of electrical power, solar panel installation, top-notch security systems, and the infrastructure to handle a Category 5 hurricane. Due to the nature of the business, this facility also requires a three point check in system to prevent unauthorized access to the facility.

The new HostDime facility will eventually combine the current corporate headquarters near UCF in Research Park with the current data center HostDime operates in Central Florida.  For the near future, both data centers will operate concurrently to handle demand for data center space in the region.

Partners in the expansion include Enterprise Florida, Orlando EDC, Orange County, and Duke Energy.
